Storms, Hurricanes and Tornados, are known to destroy, dismantle or change the presence of nature, people and places. We have all experienced first hand the change that a storm system can bring. Many of us have had to make due with our bare necessities, electricity was out, some places water and food was scarce, and oh my goodness there was no television talking at us in our lives. There was no fast food and the kids had to improvise and play out side! Some families and neighbors had to bunk together for weeks at a time. Some had to learn to gather in peace, putting aside all differences, because this was a time of disaster. Homes were torn up and destroyed in all parts of the city, the lines of class between societies was no longer an issue for that moment, we all were doing the same thing, sheltering from the storm!
In the Metaphysical world it is known that storms and water come to bring change, water cleanses and wind move things. Nature has a way of quietly reminding us that we are not in control. So many of us have experienced this storm in different ways, some have suffered loss and some have experienced gain. The gain of slowing down and realizing that life is more then just a job; oddly enough the things that were so important to us became unavailable. So many of us were forced to slow down and take a view of our daily routine. We could not go to work due to the results of the Hurricane, for some this probably was the first time they had a distinct reason to stay at home for a change.
Our children were displaced because the schools were closed; this forced us to spend time with our own kids instead of child care or the school system taking care of them for 8 hrs. We had to live with out distractions and noise, for some we actually sat out side for a change. We were forced to talk to each other, our neighbors, spouses our family and friends were all around and we had to make due, and the funny part is that we have homes that we rush to work to pay for that some of us very seldom slow down to enjoy. Yes, we had to stay our selves at home!
This process was very difficult for some, the feeling of being restless and antsy over took some of our spirits. The slow down was not easily accepted, although we are adaptable beings and can maneuver in most situations; some found it hard to change their routine. The jobs we say we hate going to, all of sudden became important for us to go to. The food in our fridge that we take for granted, all of a sudden became important. Water that we act like we hate to drink became precious as money or gold. Some learned to pray for the first time in fear of destruction. I wonder if this was God’s way of having a fire drill to alert us of what life would be like if none of these things that we so blatantly take for granted no longer existed.
It’s time for an awakening, take a look around you and understand that as precious as life is, it can easily be taken away or changed in an instance. Get your self and your family in some type of order. Make amends where it is needed and make away, where there is none. Save what you have for that stormy day, and share what you do have, with others so that it can multiply by your kindness. Remember to educate your self from the past, I cautioned myself during the storm, to stay positive and know that I am not a victim of the enemy’s circumstance! We had to do like they did in Egypt when Moses cautioned Pharos to set the slaves free. Put the lambs’ blood over your door and wait and pray until it all passed over. Yes, this was devastating to so many of us, but out of this a change has come, what ever the change is, recognize it for something bigger then what it seems.
Love, Peace N Much Respect!
