Get It Together!

Stop stretching yourself so thin, multitasking maybe a way of doing things but not a way to constantly live. Be fully present in each moment of your life. Handle each task one at a time, if you don’t you will only be giving out portions of yourself. Anytime you handout portions to anything it takes away from it being whole. Although your intentions are good, no one wants bits and pieces of you, so shut it all down, regroup and start again. We often get so caught up in work, life kids, bills that we are stretched mentally and physically from one end to the next. I use to pride myself in being able to accomplish as many things in a day that would take a small office of five to complete in a week. I don’t know if it was ego or just plain control issues that had me thinking I had life under control. Pretty soon the sense of accomplishment went out the door, with stress and health issues taking residence in my life. I was so focused on getting things done, that even family became a task to get accomplished. The crazy part is that in my quest to juggle everything I really felt well accomplished until I realized that I was not fully present and that I was only getting by. I don’t know about you, but doing a half ass job will result in having to do over, what could have been done correct the first time. There is more to life than just getting by, and looking good while we do it. The phone is constantly ringing, at home, work and in the car. I’m picking up or dropping off. I’m managing multiple projects, goals and issues all in a days’ time. When dose our body and brain catch up? I use to think sleep was our time to regenerate and renew, but I’m finding out that even in sleep if we are bogged down, our minds will not allow us to rest leaving us feeling cranky and upset. If you awake with an attitude, and not know why, it’s because we are over loading ourselves up and taking it all to bed at night with us, and we are truly mad about it. Slowly it dawned on me that I’m on the treadmill of life, which I so wanted to avoid! If you find yourself in this place it’s a sign that although your busy, life is passing you by. So to remedy the overlapping of your work life balance, take some time to figure out what needs to be done and how you are going to go about doing it. One thing at a time.~Gia
