Lately there has been a lot of talk about making changes and getting rid of the same old way or operating our lives. There is an air of transition that is a buzz in society. The upcoming election has been catalysts of the slogan “Change” people want something different from what they have been doing. Do you find your self wanting more? Maybe the relationships that you once had no longer serve you, maybe your personal appearance no longer make you feel appealing. As we come in to our own as adults, our health needs change, our personal development adapts to our environment and we seek for that something better.
I have a very close friend that take a personal inventory of his life list every year. He eliminates people, things and situations that no longer enhance his life yearly. Sometimes that may mean giving up the current way you operate your life, a new job, cleaning out clutter, changing residence, or moving out of the state you currently live in. Maybe you have a group of individuals that you associate with or discuss your inner most thoughts with, and they no longer spark that energy to make you want to do better. I was watching Bishop TD. Jakes on television the other day and he was doing a series of enlightenment about taking inventory and adjusting the people in your life and amending how you do things. I have always been one to have long relationships sometimes staying in situations that were of no good to my being. But, because I was taught loyalty to family and friends I stayed in things that were not to my benefit, I felt that I owed the relationship a chance to change. So I continued to operate in the same old way only to allow the other person to get tired and walk away.
To be able to optimize our lives we must be adaptable to change, and learn to not hold on to things situations and people that no longer serve us. Being stubborn and comfortable will not allow us to grow, do and have more. Fear prevents us from doing some of the things we often think would enhance our lives but, may feel uncomfortable doing. There is a balance that we gain with in our selves to understand, that something new is just that new. Not to say that new is often times always better, but you will know if new is what you need. Your soul will call out for it; we all have an internal meter with in us, which says I need something different than what I am doing. Sometimes you have to trick your self in to making a change, acting as if you are already there, in the place you want to be in can help you get there faster, imagining you being at the level that you can’t see right now above your current situation and watch things began to unfold.
Many people are astonished at the current Presidential race, the thought of history being made in our life time of a man of color running for President of the United States and possibly winning and being accepted by millions! This is change in its greatest example. But understand that this action can cause a greater reaction of a nation of people understanding their true worth. Take this time in history as an indication that changes can and will happen, but it starts with our selves. See more of your self then what you have been told that you can do. At any age a life can be recreated and enhanced. So understand to be more you have to expect more of your self. Find your independence not just with this election but with your own life and vote for your self to be a success!
Love, Peace N Much Respect!
