When I was a little girl, I would always tell my Mother very proudly about how “when I grew up I would not do this or that!” I would declare that I would have a better life and that I would not have to wash dishes and that I would marry a famous man and I would live in a big mansion! My Mother would laugh and always tell me, to never say never because you don’t know what the Creator has in store for your life! As I look back on my life as well as I know you can too, and see those sage words come to fruition.
How many times have you done something or anything which you have personally declared to your self or others that you would never do? These are called self declaration that will sometimes come to haunt you. The plans that you had for your self will often find you in the mist of wondering where all your plans went wrong.
As we go through twist and turns in life, you become more and more docile to changes. We allow our dreams to vanish and we forget about what our declarations were. Some of us have been diligent and successful in keeping promises to our selves and achieve some of the things that we intended for our selves, while others wondered what went wrong. All still having done some things that we said we would not have. We must learn to allow our selves to have expectations and even though our current reality is not what we may want them to be, we must continue to be diligent and persistent in using our imagination and speaking with convictions as boldly as we did when we were children.
As children we are praised for having a vivid imagination, it’s actually more accepted for children to be encouraged to dream and pretend to help them open and expand their mind. But as we grew older we stop imagining the wonderful things of life and started dealing in real life issues. All of the happy endings and happily ever after stories became nothing more then a child hood fairy tales. Well I am here to say that no matter how old you are or how long it may take you to create it, you can still have what you declare. The key is to say it and believe it as though it’s already here! Yes, I am saying imagine your self doing, being and saying what ever it is until it’s yours! My Mother’s words are very true to me, because never is not in God’s vocabulary, just in ours. We spend all our time talking about what we are going to do, rather then doing! Don’t get me wrong, if talking is planning for you then do that, but don’t let talking about never be your stopping point.
If you are going to constantly make declarations with out actions, then be prepared to see never show up in your life.
In the movie “A Conversation with God” the Author says that God wants’ what we want for our selves. To me this means to achieve what we say we want we have to move our selves and our critics out of the way and figure out what we really want for our selves, and just do what we are saying we truly want. If you say you want to dance then just dance, if you want to travel, eat cookies in bed, do it.Yes, all things have concequences, but the road you choose dont always have to be rocky for you. The thing about being a kid is you can close your eyes and pretend and it’s accepted. But if you make a declaration as an adult, you may be afraid of being judged. Take some time alone and write out some desires, instead of a bucket list. lets make a living list, and see how that works out for you!
Love, Peace N Much Respect!
