Am I Beautiful? Then, Where Is My Mate?

There once was a woman name Nandi,
she lived in a small village in Africa. Nandi was coming of age to be married and was in waiting for her mate to claim her. Nandi was very worried that her mate would not find her, so she worked very hard to make sure that he would. She began doing everything she could to make sure that she was beautiful. Nandi overheard a conversation between her Mother and Aunt talking about how men only loved beautiful women, and how beauty would win the prize husband. Nandi thought to herself,” I will make myself the most beautiful, that way when my husband comes, he will see how beautiful I am and take me as his bride!”

Nandi asked some of the village men, what is beautiful to you, they smiled and replied, a woman is beautiful if she has a beautiful body, strong lean and shapely! Nandi went home in the mirror and took a long look and asked the mirror, am I beautiful, strong lean and shapely? The mirror replied, No! You have big hips and real thick thighs; I don’t think you will capture any husband’s eyes. So Nandi cried, oh God, “Why have you made me this way?”

Nandi was sad, but determined not to give up she continued on her quest, and decided to ask her mother” “What is beautiful to you?” Nandi’s mother smiled and said beautiful woman have lovely hair. Nandi, left her mother in a daze, on to the mirror she asked. “So, do I have lovely hair?’ Once again the Mirror replied, “No, your hair is not long and wavy, it’s thick and coarse. I don’t think you will capture a husband’s eye.”

Nandi was so disappointed, she cried and cried and that night she decided to confront God and ask him how could he make such a mistake? How could he not make her beautiful so that she too could find a mate like other women in her village had?
God answered Nandi, without haste, Nandi, you are the most beautiful, I made each woman different. I don’t want you to be the same. Each of your features I handpicked only to you. I heard you questioning your beauty, and why everyone had a different answer; you see, I gave each woman something wonderful, that only her man could recognize as a gift to his soul. This is how he will find you, yes; it will take time because I need you to grow. Be not in a rush, some will come only to look and some will come to take what is not theirs, but know from each you will learn to wait on the true light of my heart.

Fall not for counterfeit lovers! I gave you beautiful curves that you and the mirror called big hips, these hips forms a silhouette that is so wonderfully you as a woman. This is a bonus because your man will give you beautiful children to bear; your hips will make it easier to carry these jewels. Your thighs are made just for you, to balance the frame of a gorgeous flower that you are. Your hair is as my son Jesus, which your man will find pleasure in seeing Jesus in you.

So why are you asking everyone else, critiquing my work? I don’t want every man to see your beauty, if they all see it, they will all want it, and it’s only made for one. He will find you and know in his heart that you are his gift. Oh and before I go, please stop talking to yourself and answering yourself, in the mirror! The enemy had you fooled, I make no mistakes. You are so precious and beautiful, ask not of yourself, and just simply come to me! Now go to sleep and when you wake, know that you are my flower and as all flowers grow when ready they too will get picked.

Love, Peace and Much Respect!
Gia
