Are We Living Our Values?

I attended a conference yesterday, and one of the programs brought the question up of “what is our core values and if we are truly living them?” The instructor asked us to take a blank sheet of paper and draw a line down the middle, in the left hand column write your top 4 -5 values. Write down in order what is most important to you! This might be career, family, health, love, finances, pets etc. In the next column to your right, write down exactly what you do everyday to ensure the importance or the value that you have for each item. Such as, if you say family, “what do you do each day to ensure or reinforce the importance of your family to you?” If you say health, “what are you doing health wise to display the behaviors of being healthy in your life?”

There are times when our subconscious mind gets confused with what we say we want, and what we are actually doing to achieve the out come. If finances are important to you, then you should be reading, doing and displaying characteristics that show the importance of finances in your life. Our minds are designed to do exactly what we request of it. If we are busy saying one thing and doing another, then we become frustrated and uneasy because we are contradicting the very thing we say we want. In turn the verbal request that we send up to the Universe is delayed because of our thoughts and actions. So, if I say “I want better finances” and I don’t do anything to work towards that, I am actually opening myself up for lack to come in.

Although we all have great intentions, the action must work in coexistence with your intentions to manifest what you say you want. Let’s take a closer look at our value system. It’s time to walk the walk; we make the statement every year that it’s going to be all about our selves! We proclaim that we are going to be our first priority, well until we actually make that happen and start doing things that match this statement, we will not attract what we need to be fulfilled.

Value System:
My Child: Take 5 mins to hug my kid everyday
My health: Take 30 mins to do some form of exercise
My Finances: Save the money I would spend on lunch for 3 mnths
Love Life: Allow myself to be open for Love
Career: Take courses to keep me knowledgeable in my field
